The Yes or No Wheel answers any yes-or-no question at random. Think of your question, click the wheel, and it lands on Yes or No with exactly equal odds — 50% each. Add Maybe for three equal outcomes, or try the Magic 8 style list for more colorful answers.

How to use the Yes or No Wheel

  1. Think of a question that can be answered yes or no.
  2. Pick a set of answers: Yes / No, Yes / No / Maybe, or your own words.
  3. Tap or click the wheel, or press Spin.
  4. Read the answer in the pop-up. Best of three? Just spin again.

Why six slices and not two?

The wheel starts with Yes and No repeated three times. A two-slice wheel works exactly the same, but six alternating slices make the spin easier to follow and more fun to watch. The odds do not change: three Yes slices out of six is still exactly 50%. Choose Two big slices from the quick lists if you prefer the classic look.

Good ways to use a yes or no wheel

  • Should I go out tonight?
  • Order takeout?
  • Buy it or not?
  • Party game forfeits
  • Classroom true or false
  • Settle a friendly bet
  • Who pays for coffee

A useful trick from decision research: notice how you feel the moment the answer appears. If you are relieved, or disappointed, that reaction is often the real answer — the wheel simply helped you find it.

Best of three, kept for you

Every answer is listed under Results, newest first, so you can play best of three or best of five without keeping score on paper.

Frequently asked questions

Is the yes or no wheel 50/50?

Yes. With the default Yes and No slices each answer has exactly a 50% chance, drawn with your browser’s cryptographically secure random generator.

How do I add Maybe to the wheel?

Choose "Yes / No / Maybe" from the quick lists above the entry box, or type Maybe on its own line. With three answers each has a one-in-three chance.

Can I change the words on the wheel?

Yes. Edit the list in the entry box — for example "Do it" and "Skip it" — and the wheel updates as you type.

Why does the wheel sometimes say Yes several times in a row?

Each spin is independent, so streaks are normal. With a 50/50 wheel, three Yes answers in a row happen about one time in eight.

Can I trust a wheel to make a decision for me?

It is best for low-stakes choices and for breaking a tie between two options you would be happy with. For important decisions, use the result as a prompt to notice which answer you were hoping for.
