The Random Number Wheel picks a whole number at random from a range you choose. Enter the lowest and highest number — 1 and 100, for example — press Fill wheel, then spin. Every number has the same chance, and you can take each number off the wheel once it is drawn so it cannot come up again.

How to use the Random Number Wheel

  1. Type the lowest and highest number in From and To, and a step if you want every 2nd, 5th or 10th number.
  2. Press Fill wheel, or pick a ready-made range such as 1–100.
  3. Tap or click the wheel to spin. The number is shown in the pop-up and added to Results.
  4. For a draw without repeats, turn on "Take the winner off the wheel afterwards" in Settings.

Draw numbers without repeats

For bingo, a raffle by ticket number or calling students by their register number, turn on Take the winner off the wheel afterwards under Settings → After spin. Each number is removed as it is drawn, the wheel gets smaller, and Restore removed puts every number back for the next round. Results keeps the order they came out in.

How likely is a particular number?

RangeChance of any one numberSame number twice in a row
1–616.7% (1 in 6)1 in 6
1–1010% (1 in 10)1 in 10
1–205% (1 in 20)1 in 20
1–1001% (1 in 100)1 in 100

The draw uses rejection sampling on top of the browser’s secure generator, which removes the tiny bias that the common “random number modulo range” shortcut introduces. On a 1–100 wheel every number is exactly equally likely.

Steps, odd and even numbers

The Step box lets you build wheels such as 0, 5, 10 … 100 (step 5) or only even numbers (from 2, step 2). Up to 1,000 numbers fit on one wheel; above 30 slices a magnifier shows the number under the pointer while the wheel turns.

Frequently asked questions

How do I pick a random number between 1 and 100?

Choose the 1–100 quick list, or type 1 in From and 100 in To and press Fill wheel, then click the wheel to spin.

Can the number wheel avoid repeats?

Yes. Turn on "Take the winner off the wheel afterwards" in Settings and each number is removed after it is drawn. Restore removed puts them all back.

What is the largest range I can use?

Up to 1,000 numbers on one wheel, including negative numbers and steps such as every 5th number.

Is every number equally likely?

Yes. Each number is drawn with the browser’s cryptographically secure generator using rejection sampling, so there is no bias toward lower or higher numbers.
