The Chore Wheel shares out household jobs at random so nobody can say it is unfair. Each person spins once and takes the chore it lands on; the chore is then taken off the wheel, so every job is handed out exactly once. Start from the household, kids’, weekly or roommate lists, or type your own.
How to use the Chore Wheel
- Pick a quick list or type your own chores, one per line.
- Each person takes a turn to spin. The chore they land on is theirs.
- The chore is removed automatically, so the next person gets a different one.
- Copy the assignments from Results, or press Restore removed for next week.
Why a wheel makes chores feel fairer
Arguments about chores are rarely about the work — they are about who decided. A random draw that everyone watches takes the decision out of anyone’s hands. Because each chore is removed once it has been assigned, nobody can land on the same job twice in one round, and next week’s spin will mix everything up again.
Balance big and small jobs
If some chores are much bigger than others, pair them: write “Bathroom + bins” on one line and “Dishes + plants” on another, so every slice is roughly the same amount of work. Or give each person two spins and let the wheel balance it out over a month.
Make a weekly chore rota
- Spin once per person and note the results — Results → Copy gives you a list to paste into the family chat or a shared note.
- At the end of the week press Restore removed to put every chore back.
- Spin again for a new rota.

Frequently asked questions
How does a chore wheel work?
List the chores, then each person spins once and takes the chore the wheel lands on. On this page the chore is removed after each spin, so every job is assigned once.
Can I use the chore wheel with roommates?
Yes. Choose the Roommates quick list for shared areas like the kitchen and bathroom, and share the wheel with a link so everyone sees the same list.
How do I reset the chore wheel for next week?
Press Restore removed. Every chore that was assigned goes back on the wheel.
Can I make some chores less likely?
Yes. Switch to Advanced mode and type a lower winning chance next to the chores you want to come up less often.
